Notification
No.TAMP/26/2000-COPT - In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 48 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Tariff Authority for Major Ports hereby approves the daily toll charge for a tourist bus of capacity less than 20 passengers coming to the Cochin Port Trust area, as in the Order appended hereto.
SCHEDULE
Case No. TAMP/26/2000-COPT
The Cochin Port Trust (COPT)
Applicant
O R D E R
( Passed on this 15th day of March, 2000 )
This case relates to a proposal received from the Cochin Port Trust (COPT) to revise the daily rates of toll pass for a tourist bus having capacity of less than 20 passengers to Rs.20/-.
2. In the existing Scale of Rates of the COPT, a toll charge of Rs.40/- per day for a tourist bus irrespective of the passenger capacity is included. The COPT has stated that the operators of small tourist buses having capacity of less than 20 passengers had represented against clubbing of all tourist buses irrespective of passenger capacity for the daily toll pass. The COPT has, therefore, proposed to revise the rates for daily toll passes for a tourist bus of capacity less than 20 passengers to Rs.20/-, as a customer friendly approach.
3.
In
view of the position described by the COPT, and
based on a collective application of mind,
the Authority hereby approves the proposal of the COPT to
levy a daily toll charge of Rs.20/- per day
for a tourist bus having capacity of less than 20 passengers and decides to retain the
existing rate of Rs.40/- per day only for
tourist buses with a capacity of more than 20 passengers.
